Pastor Tim holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, and Western Michigan University.  He has a passion for maturing the Church, mentoring others in the faith, and a missional vision for God's people.  Tim is married to Mary, and they have three girls:  Sarah, Charissa, and Mikaela; and, a grandson, Kolten Timothy.

From Ben and Sarah's installation service on September 30, 2007:

Benjamin Bruins was born and raised in Alto, Wisconsin.  He is the son of Paul and Debra Bruins, and has two younger brothers, Dan and Peter.  Ben attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and studied business and psychology.

Sarah Van Zetten Bruins grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is the daughter of Jim and Diane Van Zetten and has two older brothers, Matthew and Aaron.  She attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, and studied religion and music.

Ben and Sarah were both part of the entering class at Western Theological Seminary in 2004, where they met and married.  It was during their time at Western that they began to feel called to minister together, and they are excited to begin this call at First Reformed.
